This is from JoeRogan.Net. Figgs inquired to my opinion of manipulation of the visions/experiences within the throws of DMT:

If not, do you feel that such an idea is absolutely impossible and that people are, for the most part, powerless inside other dimensions?

It's kind of a complicated question. I hope I'll makes this somewhat clear.

My response:
I'm going to need to babble a lot here to try and express the answer. I wish I could sum it up easier but I fear not conveying enough in only a couple of sentences. The difficultly of course is communicating the answer to a reader who has not felt the extreme non-ordinary state. Even bringing a clear imagine of what it's like to see colors can be tedious.

I still get lost in the astonishment of the vivid reality created in the mind. So, I would differ to a more experienced person (simply a person who's had more treks than I) for a more absolute grasp on the full control or lack of but there's enough exp in me to provide:

It appears you are able to manipulate the sceneries and "beings" to some extent. Many people do communicate with these beings as a consult (they are consulting themselves in my opinion) for answers to topics and catechisms. A type of excogitation if you will, from a vast resource that most human brains contain but are not fully accessible during ordinary states of consciousness. Probably due to the whole ego thing, western philosophy (suppression of the more spiritual side, etc...) and other factors such as our brain evolved to handle survival and assessment of the so called ordinary state where we survive day to day. We were not brought into fruition from a world where these states present selective pressures.

Still, they do not extend past the total ability of the specific person. In this I mean if you actually lacked the answer within the repository of psyche and collective wisdom/knowledge you will not manifest the solutions to yourself through the means of communication of these other beings or introspection without the creation of these "sentient" beings.
Perhaps I can sum this up in a more cohesive way:

If you have never learned how calculus, the resource would not be there, no matter which drug you consume, you'd lack the base understanding. This means those "beings" too would lack the ability. Now lets say you have learned calc but since then forgot. If that data is stored in the brain, the beings could very well show you formulas to these even though at a conscious level you don't remember them.

This does not mean in other realms of advice seeking, your little brain couldn't come up with theories to help your ordinary state. To sum this sentence up: It helps you think outside of the box or your box to which the ordinary state tends to hold people.

Now to provide personal experience in relation to the manipulation of music in the head whilst in the treks. I think this somewhat answers your question as well:

There have been times where there's a very distinctive musical rhythm dancing around in my head. With sheer will ('thought' I suppose) I could change the tempo, add instruments, remove instruments and because of the non-orindary state I could see the music being played out. I personally have pretty much ZERO musical talent, nor do I remember how to write down music. If I took the time (maybe I will eventually) to relearn how to compose music there would be songs and and composures created by me, all stemming from my ability to manipulate music in my head. Normally new songs/beats do not flow from my thoughts. The added help of being able to see music and the flare of being in another world where I'm a soul and not a physical body helps a lot..

Soul: In this context I merely mean a disembodied stated where the normal laws of physics do not apply. In general if you look at yourself in these journeys, you are not an exact replica of your physical body -- sometimes, perhaps most of the time, non-corporeal. I have no belief in the spirit overall as the normal term.

If you recall, Joe Rogan has talked about being able to do JuJitsu in his head. This is exactly what I mean.
Whoops: I forgot to mention that in this case Joe Rogan was talking about isolation tank experiences. I still see this as a non-ordinary state however.

Also I should note that as the initial transversing of your mind to other worlds it's much like your brain randomly (or if it isn't random, it's not at a conscious level typically) selecting a book from a vast library and manifesting that book as a world or dimension. So you can just sit back, wait for the experience and then interact or try to manipulate into a more directed goal of a specific world/creation.

Hmm, it probably comes down more to the person. Some people may have NO control and they are just flying through their mind created universe and others have more direct control. Oh wait, I did think of another way to explain this:

When your dreaming, you typically are powerless to change things. You are on a static ride. Then there are the times you DO in fact have the ability to change the course of actions but you still are not aware it's a dream. And then there's the lucid state where you know it's but a dream and you have complete and utter control or at times, some control.
